The spectrum displays two Cr absorption bands in the violet-blue (~430–440 nm) and orange-red (~600–610 nm) regions with a transmission window in the green, and a broad Fe band in the near-infrared (~820–840 nm). This absorption pattern is fully consistent with a chromium- and iron-bearing variety of beryl - emerald.

The measured Raman spectrum (blue) compared with beryl from the mineralogical database (red) and corresponds to beryl mineral. See the RRUFF database (https://www.rruff.net/) for comparison.
