The spectrum shows strong absorption in the ultraviolet region, with transmission in cyan and red regions. The most prominent absorption bands at 390, 550 and 637 nm are assigned to a combination of iron (Fe2+ and Fe3+) chromium (Cr3+) and vanadium (V3+) respectively.
